Attack of the Cracker

What made my kids laugh hysterically for well over 10 minutes at the dinner table tonight?

Firekids

A couple of weeks ago (I know, I'm waaayyyy behind!) the kiddies got to tag along with Nathan's summer "Kids Camp" program, and visit the local fire station. The boys could hardly stand it! N asked the fireman, "Can I drive it?", when he was sitting in the drivers seat of the fire truck. I truly think he thought he had a chance. V loved wearing the hat and pants. M didn't want to try on the clothes, but she enjoyed using the hose. Silly kids.

Nature Park

Syracuse City has a new Nature Park that's pretty awesome. It's all protected Wet Lands. I've been excited to go since I learned about it. We saw some fun water birds, and one black crane. The kids loved the ducks, and walking on all the bridges.

Softball

Tonight was my last softball game of the season. It's the first time I've played in 14 years. I had forgotten how much I loved playing. Back in the day, I use to be fairly good at it. This time around, I'm not so good, but I sure had a good time. I hope to keep playing, and hopefully each season I can do a little bit better. Thanks to Nathan for being supportive every Thursday night. And thanks to Jen, who asked me if I wanted to join the team.

The Face-less Blogger

Nathan claims that I don't ever put photos of me on here. He calls me the "Face-less Blogger". So, to prove him wrong, here's a picture of me from just a couple weeks ago.
Also, we have had so many fun things happen the last few weeks, I have quite a bit of catching up to do. So keep commin' back. I hope to post a little every night. Later.
P.S. Make sure to scroll down to the 2 previous posts. I added text to the pics, if you're interested.

Summertime Part 2

I feel like these photos need a little "dialog" to go with them . . .
This is Noah, ready to jump in at Uncle Steve & Aunt Rosie's pool. Thanks for letting us swim on the 4th! We always have so much fun!!
Again, this is Noah. Nathan taught him that he can lay back and "float". For some strange reason he thinks me must put his legs out and in the air like this . . .
Another of Noah. (No, we weren't playing favorites with the camera. Noah just happened to be the one cooperating). All the kids learned that they can jump in, and doggie paddle back to the steps and do it all over again.
I love this photo of Elijah and Grandma. I'm sure she won't be happy with me, but I love it!!
And sweet Elijah, he's growing up waaayyy too fast!!

Summertime Part 1

More "dialog" for the pix . . . this was all of us hanging out in our front yard waiting for the fireworks. South Ogden Days was a couple weekends ago, and we have an amazing view of the fireworks from our yard. We're not even a block away from where they set them off. If you look closely you'll notice 3 cute teenagers in the middle. From left to right : my sis Carlie, Thea (Whit's friend), and Nathan's cute sister Whitney. Whitney and Thea came to visit for a few days before going to EFY. We loved having them here. They are adorable!!Again, sweet little Elijah. (Well, I suppose he's not quite so little, he is weighing in at just under 18 lbs.)
Marlee, she's actually smiling at the camera for once. All weekend she did NOT want to have her picture taken. Stinker!
Loved the action shot! The kids always have so much fun with their Dad.
And, a picture of Vance. His face still melts my heart!

Sucker of a Day

Poor little Noah. He had a rough day at Sam's Club today (like Costco). First he didn't get the pretzel he wanted. Then he didn't get the fireworks he wanted (The box was called, "Block Party", and cost over $150!!) As we were exiting the store with huge tears, and loud wailing, the sweet little man checking receipts at the door gave each of the kids a sucker. To Noah, this totally made up for everything he missed out on. Marlee unwrapped hers first, she got red. Van was excited to have red too, but after pulling off the wrapper, he discovered that not all suckers are red, his was green. Fascinating!! Noah couldn't wait to discover what color his was . . . blue. As soon as we reached the parking lot he dropped his blue sucker. So, being the good Mom that I am (really I just couldn't deal with anymore tears), I picked up that sucker, gave it a good licking (10 second rule, right!?) and handed it back to eager Noah. But, not before telling him to put it in his mouth, and to not drop it again. Now we all know where this story is headed, right? . . . We had just made it to the car, and you guessed it, he dropped it. In a puddle of OIL!! There was no way I was going to lick that off. The tears began. I put him and everyone else in the car, and started walking the cart to the return corral. I stupidly stepped on the sucker, and ran it over with the cart. GREAT! Then as I came back to the car, another car RAN OVER that little blue sucker! Oh Noah, he couldn't believe it. It was pure horror. When Nathan got in the car, he could barely understand hysterical Noah, as he tried to explain the events of what had just happened. But, the good news is that he got over it fairly quick, and has learned to leave suckers in his mouth.
